The Branch Campus Leadership Institute brings the expertise of national administrators in off-campus locations to those wanting to enter, serve, and advance in the profession. Utilizing core competencies for leaders from the American Association of State Colleges and Universities and the American Association of Community Colleges that have been adapted and tailored specifically for remote location administrators, participants will have the opportunity to acquire the skills and knowledge that will help them perform more effectively in their present positions and compete for future positions. Institute participants will develop a greater appreciation for the multiple roles of the branch administrator in the community they serve and the varied responsibilities at their institution.


Upon successful completion of the Branch Campus Leadership Institute, students will receive a certificate of completion from the National Association of Branch Campus Administration during a ceremony at the Annual Conference. Participant case studies will be presented during a General Conference session on Wednesday as well as by poster sessions during the evening reception on Wednesday.


The Orientation and Graduation are held on Conference Wednesday in April of each year and attendance is Mandatory for the Institute Student. Video-conference Sessions are held the 2nd Tuesday of the month from May through March from Noon-3:00pm Eastern Time (no session in December).

Program Expense

The Branch Campus Leadership Institute program is $1,850 per participant ($750 application fee; $1100 balance). This covers all expenses for speakers, facilitator, cloud portal account for each participant, meals provided in April, textbook, materials, and all associated expenses. Each participant is responsible for his or her own travel and lodging expenses for the Opening and Closing sessions at the Annual Conference.


Conference attendance is optional and not included with program fee.


Non-NABCA Members who are Accepted as Leadership Institute participants are entitled to a discounted Membership for the duration of their Institute Year.

Application Process

Please complete the Application and submit your application fee before August 31. All applicants will be notified regarding their acceptance into the program mid-September. Fee Payment balance is due before December 31.
